Most people look at an affiliate as somebody who just drives traffic to a vendor’s offer.

Think differently and focus on solving the issues that your customers are dealing with.

Let’s say you operate in the trading niche where you can promote one generic high-ticket course.

With this niche, you can have multiple different funnels in place.

One is for brand new traders, one is for intraday stock traders, one is for experienced traders, one is for swing traders, one is for commodities/futures traders, and so on.

Each one of these funnels promotes the same high-ticket item as the end result.

Keep in mind that you’re able to do this if the end product is really incredible.

One excellent USP example is Domino’s Pizza. It was: “Fresh, Hot Pizza Delivered To Your Door In 30 Minutes Or Less – Or It’s Free”.

Notice how nothing was said about the taste or the quality. Nor is there any mention of whether the ingredients are being imported from the old country or are they domestic?

It’s a very simple USP, but it’s brutally effective.

It is very clear what the client is getting. Dominos isn’t competing with the artisan high-end pizza at the Italian restaurant down the road.

They’re not competing with the New York-style local pizzeria. It’s very simple, you’re going to get hot pizza to your door in less than 30 minutes. Simple and concise.

To the point. Clear as day.

You must figure out your USP so you can differentiate yourself from all the competition.

The problem with new internet marketers is that they have a hard time just getting all the tech stuff worked out.

They throw an offer or some copy on a page that they think is going to make them become overnight millionaires.

They haven’t done all the groundwork.

It’s the difference between success and failure.

The way it works is once you note your main idea or thought you then draw lines off the main idea or thought to the next associated idea.

You continue drawing additional lines off those thoughts and ideas until satisfied with the results.

While creating your mind map you are able to use different symbols, colors, fonts, or whatever you want to visually organize thoughts.

As you work you will develop a visually appealing map that demonstrates your thoughts, ideas, and plan to complete the project.

Any can now see how everything is linked together to make complete sense.

A clear picture presents itself as to how the task will be completed.

Part of developing a great digital or physical product is first discovering a need and then finding creative solutions to satisfy that need.

When You Don’t See Results Immediately, Stick to It. Avoid Being a Hamster!

I’ve listened to many people over the years regarding their online progress. Unfortunately, many of them don’t make it.

They pick up a product, give it a try for a month or so and then very quickly give up on it when they don’t see the expected results.

Then, they start looking for the next product to try with hopes that maybe this one will work.

This is called “shiny object syndrome” and will bring about zero success.

You’ll just be running aimlessly like a hamster in a wheel.

Avoid being a hamster!

Don’t Be Skeptical

The bottom line, many people do make money online so why not you?

Perhaps it’s because of skepticism.

It’s easier to think that none of this stuff works and dismiss the opportunity.

Fact is, regular folks like you and me with average intelligence have figured out the secret and make money from many of the platforms available.

Once again, it’s not intelligence that does it.

Then there is the long-term marketing approach.

These are the strategies that provided a consistent flow of very targeted traffic to your website over a long period of time. This time period will be years of positive results.

The second we skip a day or two of exercise, the habit can be compromised, and then it gets harder to start again.

To develop a habit you need to do whatever the task is consistently, in this case writing on a daily basis.

How to establish a habit? Habits are developed when a particular activity or action becomes automatic. Habits can happen without wanting them to happen but they can also be intentionally developed to meet our needs in a positive way.

So instead of experiencing those days when you are sitting at your computer just staring at the screen, get into the habit of writing every day by following these simple tips.

Five Tips To Get Into the Habit of Writing Every Day

• Determine the ideal location to write. Determine a location where you are able to write your best. Be sure to eliminate all distractions. Put your phone on silent or better yet, in another room on silent. If you are a music geek like myself, use headphones and let your music help you to focus. If music helps great, if not, don’t force it. Ultimately you want a good spot that is comfortable without distractions.
• Commit to a specific time to write every day. To help you to get into the habit of writing every day, choose a specific time to start writing and commit to that time. Do not deviate from this time and schedule your other obligations around your writing time.
• Establish goals. Don’t focus on the final amount of writing that needs to be accomplished. Rather, determine the number of words that you want to complete in one given writing session per day. Make it a very reasonable number and stick to it daily. Very importantly, write down your goals. When they are written they are more realistic. Hold yourself accountable and sit down at your pre-determine favorite location and accomplish your goal. Achieving this accomplishment will lead to wanting to achieve the next day.
• Write without editing. Yes, start writing, and don’t stop. You can edit at a later time. Focus on getting your thoughts down as they come flowing from your mind. Following this method allows for getting all your thoughts down without forgetting anything. Get your story or information down and then go back and edit later.
• Create deadlines for yourself. Having a deadline is a great way to stay motivated. You know if you have a deadline you need to meet that deadline or there will be consequences. Create a consequence for not meeting the deadline and also, create a positive reinforcer for meeting the deadline. Again, write down the deadline date or mark it on a calendar you see every day.

A few solid marketing strategies have been executed through the years. They include hard work and dedication on the part of the affiliate.

You want to follow what has worked over the years and what continues to work. No need to reinvent the wheel.

Implementing these three affiliate marketing basics will enable you to make and increase your sales thus answering the question, “can you really make significant money using affiliate marketing?”.

Three Affiliate Marketing Basics

1. Always Have a Dedicated Web Page

Yes, always have a dedicated web page for each individual product you are marketing. You’ll see online pages that are filled with different products.

That is confusing and does not show any credibility. If you’re able, be sure to include a product review to inform your visitor of the product details.

Include testimonials from individuals that are familiar with the product. Using their names and photos helps tremendously but make sure you have their permission beforehand.

You can also write articles highlighting the uses of the product and include them on the website as an additional page.

Create additional pages containing original articles written by yourself or a writer. Articles related to the product in some way. Make the articles interesting and include a “call to action”.

Use attention-getting headlines throughout the article. Break the content up into small readable sections with bullets and lists.

People don’t want to read a dissertation but rather short sections that are easily and quickly digested.

2. Offer a Free Report to Your Visitors

Always offer a free report to your visitors. A report that is certainly related to what you are attempting to market.

Position that free offer on the page where it can’t be missed. Sometimes on the top right works or in the closing of your article or both.

This decision is yours but just remember, it needs to be seen clearly and simply. Create a subscriber form on your auto-responder and have the visitor give you their name and email address in return for the free offer.

Now you can use your auto-responder to keep in contact with them sending them reminders about your product and other information.

I’ve read numerous times that it takes seven reminders before a sale is made. The money is in the list.

Do not make your emails sound like sales letters. Establish an honest relationship with your subscribers. Doing so builds up trust and a willingness to read what you send them.

3. Traffic, Traffic, Traffic

Did I say traffic? I sure did. Traffic is the lifeblood of your success. Without visitors, you are on an island all by yourself.

Not only do you need traffic to your products, but it also needs to be targeted traffic. Targeted traffic is traffic that is specifically interested in what you are offering.

Articles that are written that focus on your offer or are related to your offer will help draw targeted traffic. If your article is about the dog product you are selling you won’t get a visitor searching for shoes.

I would suggest writing about two articles per week averaging 400 words, maybe 500. Google likes longer articles.

Yoast SEO will help you write your article to Google”s preferences. Just be careful not to write a bunch of fluff to get to 400 words.
